NZ Lesson 1 – Friends and Family are closer than you think

We are not designed to be lonely sojourners. Facebook “friends” helps to keep contact with some people, but real friends are the ones I can see, that I can touch, that can laugh and cry with me, that can give me that bear-hug when I need it most.

A very wise man once said “better a nearby friend than a distant family”. I can not and don’t want to forget friends and family in South Africa, but even in a strange land, there are new friends and family. Be a friend and family to some stranger and very soon you can laugh and cry and feel that bear-hug that fuels your spirit and soul.
