“The only constant in life is CHANGE”. Heraclitus – Greek philosopher

We all agree that we are living in a fast pace society where everything around us are changing at such a rate, that we find it difficult to keep up.

Never before has there been a generation that has seen so much change; just a few examples:

Transport – From horse and cart, too bicycles, cars, planes and inter planetary transference.

Communication – From smoke signal too telephone, telegram, fax, email, text messages and even instant face to face connections over continents.

Business – From trading cattle and skins to selling virtual currencies and block-chain systems that will transform business forever.

Successful businesses are the ones that have found a way to adapt to a fast changing world. The Xpand (https://xpand.eu/sa/ ) Mentorship Program guides business owners in personal development to adapt through the cycles of change that they face in life.

In fact, life is a cycle of going through one crisis to the next. The Mentorship Program uses “The Periods of Life” by Romano Guardini to indicate the different crisis that every human being go through from birth to death. Take note – it is not a matter of whether you will face change, but rather of WHEN it will happen. In a business it may include one of, if not all of the following:

  • New competitors

  • New innovations

  • Economical challenges

  • New products and services

Successful business owners have a support team and network around them when they face crisis and change.

Story: I remember a good friend of mine that experienced a major crisis in December 2012. His newly build manufacturing plant, which was only in production for 4 years burned down. Within a month he set up a temporary plant, got manufacturing going again and were able to supply clients with their products. How did he do this – he had a network of people around him.

Do you have such a network or team?

What next?

Have a look at the following support framework. See if you can fill it with the names of people that will be your support team when crisis and change occurs.
